F.E.C.L.C. Board Retreat
Hello my friend,
How are you? Here's hoping all is well with you and the family. I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thanks for taking the time to talk to, and encourage me, as we prepare for the Family Enrichment Community Learning Center (F.E.C.L.C.) Board Retreat, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, March 20, 2010.
As a reminder I have put together a few lines below for you on the program’s purpose, mission and vision. Please feel free to browse our website (http://www.fetchfl.org) for a more in-depth view of who we are and what we are trying to do in this our God-appointed, ripe and waiting harvest. I say harvest because I feel souls are waiting to be redeemed to their Creator, if only we would show up and employ the tools, gifting and resources with which we each have been blessed by our God. So won’t you stand with me as I stand in the gap for the many dysfunctional families of our local communities who are so desperate to be made whole again? Wont’ you help me bring hope to our people who are not only hopeless but helpless? With your help the F.E.C.L.C. could be more effective in its outreach, and more successful in our attempt to win folks back from the darkness and despair of illiteracy and poverty. Won’t you join me on March 20th, 2010 at 9 am on the F.I.U. Modesto Maidique Campus? Help me shape this young but vibrant organization into the mighty tool for change that it is destined to become.
I need your help. Our communities need your help. Our nation is waiting for you to join this most noble, yet humble cause; the F.E.C.L.C. Program. Please say you will join me.
Mission:
The Family Enrichment Community Learning Center (F.E.C.L.C.), a full service community school, empowers low-income, underserved, at-risk youth and families by providing them with academic enhancement, Information Technology based skills, job training and life-style improvement options. The F.E.C.L.C. participants develop positive self-esteem, marketable skills, access to resources necessary for success and hope for a better future.
Vision:
The Family Enrichment Community Learning Center will be a major resource center in local communities. We see a world where:
- unemployment is eradicated
- astronomical school drop-out rate is a thing of the past
- family dysfunctionality and hopelessness are spoken of as the way things used to be… before F.E.C.L.C.
As a result of our efforts we envision a future full of improved prospects for the lives of all people living in under-served communities.
Purpose:
We strive to provide services to all children and families regardless of their skin-color, ethnic or demographic grouping, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, gender, abilities or disabilities. We believe it is imperative for us to stay connected to local communities and become increasingly aware of their individual needs, concerns and sensitivities. We know that it is this information and experience garnered from our intimate contact with the communities we serve, which guides us in our ongoing efforts to develop, conduct or coordinate programs and services aimed at meeting the needs of our target population.
Again, I look forward to hearing from you regarding serving along side me in the trenches for a cause which is too big to fail, too noble to turn down, and too vital to be ignored in the recovery effort to reclaim lost lives, and souls for the Kingdom of God. Date Correction: Saturday, March 20, 2010
God bless.
